Normally the home of the Ottawa Farmers' Market during other months of the year, Lansdowne square transforms each December into a Christmas fair packed to the brim with local foods, arts and craft work as well fun and festivities for both adult and kids. Take your little ones on a magical horse and wagon journey and take in the roughly 120 stalls of Christmas cheer on offer.

Upper Canada Village is a Victorian-era village that attracts tourists throughout the year. If you are looking to enjoy an adventure that has the feel of a Dickens' classic like 'A Christmas Carol', this location is the perfect setting. While there is no official Christmas market here, each year the village is decked out in seasonal decorations and as the snow begins to cover the unique and picturesque buildings a very special atmosphere is created. Highlights include a spectacular light display known as Alight at Night, which illuminates the village from the end of November through December.

Although it only last for 3 to 4 days, this gathering of artists, cooks and craftsmen, who come to display and sell some truly spectacular wares, is fast becoming a must-see event. Located within the Grand Hall of the museum, you'll be kept safe from the winter weather while also being treated to a kaleidoscopic experience filled with gourmet edibles, blown glass sculptures, woodcraft and jewelry pieces and a truly unique atmosphere. And when you're done, there's still the Museum of History to see!
